Everything Dear Black Prophets, Co. is involved in exists in the spirit of Ujima. As the world might have it, we do not matter. This is evident in the racism pandemic that we have endured from 1619-to present day. Likewise, historically, we have always overcome and practiced resiliency by leaning into our tribe and our greater village. Dear Black Prophets, Co. will offer, and work collaboratively with other organizations rooted in the liberation of Black people to offer workshops, events, and activities to unite and heal the community.
This is for you if you have ever had emotions, feelings, or experiences that you could not name. Psychology draws connections between the experience of racial oppression and mental health disorders. Racial oppression has been associated with symptoms of depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, and more (Sheehan et al., 2019).
